The term Kaleidoscope stems from ancient Greek and translates literally to ‘the observation of beautiful forms’. A kaleidoscope is an optical instrument invented in 1815, now most commonly used as a simple toy to create marvellous patterns for moments of visual joy.
This relates to CLINQ in ever so many ways. Each item we design is preceded by a sort of masterclass in craft, research, and technology – but the result we aim for is an object of style, function, and play. We strive to maintain a lasting sense of pleasure in our accessories.
The ‘observation of beautiful forms’ in all its various uses and disguises is very much at the heart of our CLINQ EDITION #19.
