The artist Agnes Denes – now aged 94 and still active – is possibly the most radical of land artists, not working within nature, but turning nature itself into art: planting a wheat field in Manhattan, growing forests on former landfills. Ecological concerns may be at the heart of Denes’ work, but it is the intentional surrender of control we admire – pieces that continuously change form, that literally grow into their own. As such, it reminded us of our latest addition, the CLINQ claw clip, a collection still blossoming and ever evolving into unexpected forms and possibilities. Please see the new designs here

THE IDEA
CLINQ is situated on the edge between jewelry and product design, between craft and technology. CLINQ was initially founded with the idea of reimagining the common hair clip as a statement piece of jewelry. As our collection is expanding to different styles and forms of accessories, the essence at the heart of CLINQ remains the same: we invest time and effort to design accessories that are timeless and versatile, allowing space for self-expression and personality. We want to be your everyday companion and rise to the special occasion.
THE PROCESS
CLINQ accessories are often based on transforming a disposable everyday item into an object of value and desire. During an extensive research stage, we reconsider the nature of the item, and how we can improve on form, function, and material. We care about the product – ultralight objects made of high-quality materials that are made to last – as much as we care about the process behind the product. CLINQ is crafted in-house in Berlin with individually designed and custom made tools. We work with local and trusted suppliers, assuring an environmentally responsible and sustainable production process. Craftsmanship and technology, functionality and style, the organic and the artificial, nature and design are at the heart of everything we do at CLINQ.

Since our very first collection, all CLINQ styles have been named after women we admire. Scientists, writers, politicians, sportswomen, entrepreneurs, designers, activists, or simply women who achieved extraordinary things in their lifetime, often against all the odds and constraints of their time and society. To celebrate our 10th edition, we produced a small booklet that profiles 10 of the women that have served us as continuous inspiration and reference point.
